Tuskegee Airmen 332nd P51 Mustangs, Red Tails - Original tribute drawing pencil graphite

*UPDATE: Prints will be available soon, contact me for PreOrdering*
These P51-D Mustangs were inspired by my nephew's appearance in the Tawala Theatre Company's production of Arthur Millers' "All My Sons". This is a tribute to the brave men of the 332nd Fighter group and their proud service to our country in the face of such oppressive racism. It also stands as a reminder of just one of the multitude of brilliant accomplishments of Tuskegee University.

This original drawing has an 12 3/16"x 14 15/16" (30.25x 37.5cm) finished size, on the unmatted drawing. The matting is 16"x 20" (40.5x 50.5cm) with an opening for an 11"x 14" (35.5x 37.5cm) piece, so a small portion is covered, when matted. The 5H to 5B pencil work is sealed with Grumbacher matte final fixative, to seal the graphite from smudging.

Red Tails is the third offering in the Drawing Gallery, and a window into my love of all things mechanical. Planes, trains, automobiles, and architecture have always been favorite subjects in my sketchbooks, so I'll continue sharing this passion, here in the gallery.

Please feel free to contact me, and we can design a custom piece, just for you!
